A player you embed in one line, already wired to your storage and your DRM. Free: you pay what playback consumes, not the player.

One path end to end, not three loose products
Each service stands on its own and has its own API: you can encrypt video you host elsewhere, or store and serve without DRM. But use several and the joins are already made — and the joins are exactly the part that costs your IT team weeks, if not months.

The join you cannot buy separately
Encrypting during the encode skips the most awkward step in video. With separate vendors you would have to pull every rendition down, run it through a packager with your keys and upload it again — for every title, and again every time you change the ladder. Here the file comes out of the same job already encrypted, and those keys are the ones your DRM licenses to viewers.
One account, one balance and one credential with whatever scopes you give it. No integrating four vendors and reconciling four bills at the end of the month.

The usual alternative to these three services is assembling them yourself: S3 to store, CloudFront to serve, MediaConvert to encode and a separate DRM vendor. These are their public list prices in their cheapest region, against ours.
